Paper Plate Squid

Paper Plate Squid
This is a great project for small kids.

Supplies:
   Paper Plate
  Strips of Crepe Paper
  Glue
  Googly Eyes
  Paint

Cut the crepe paper into strips Cut the paper plate in half. Have your child paint their half of the plate however they may choose. Flip the plate over and along the entire straight edge apply a line of glue. Allow your child to place the strips as they choose, they may want to place some higher than others and if they want to layer just add more glue let them be creative. Flip plate back over apply the googly eyes and that's it you now have a squid!

Since you have an unused half of the plate do the project along  with your child this is helpful with smaller children as they can see what your doing and they'll want to do it to.

Crafting

I used to love art and making things but somewhere along the way I stopped. Now that I'm watching Izzy I have rediscovered my crafty side. From the beginning I wanted to make teaching him fun. I didn't want the intellectual side of him thrive at the expense of the creative side of him. Making things is great for his confidence he is so proud when he hands mommy one of his projects. I started with him at a  very early age with crafts and now he is becoming more independent. He has seen me help him with certain things before time and time again, and now he'll hold out his hands and say I do laura I do. It may take a few tries but he's very excited when he can do it all by himself. And mommy has used all of his many projects to decorate his room.

F@#% Education

I keep hearing the republicans saying cut the education budget. What the hell is there left to cut in AZ they took away tenure from teachers  and they can now be forced to sign a new contract when ever renegotiating their salary and benefits. Tax money that is suppose to go toward education has been used for other things you can only cut the education budget so much. I swear if it were up to republicans we would be back to the old ways of only the children who's parents are rich to pay for a private tutor will receive an education. Our poor education system is already so screwed up we can not afford to keep taking away from it. These kids are our future and they are already receiving a second rate education if they continue to take away from our education system we had all better hope the Mayan's were right about the end of the world in 2012

So this is my life

Thinking back I had all these plans while I was growing up. I was gonna have a husband, a few babies, I was going o be an Archeologist, a Vet, or a Forensic Scientist. And here I am I'll be 31 in December and I have a girlfriend no babies, and I watch a toddler barely making enough money to make it. I went to college I was the first in my family. I got out of the small town  which was really my biggest goal , but none of what I wanted happened. I was doing ok up until last November, my Aunt died from breast cancer, she was only 49. I was very upset and thought that I must be a bit depressed, because of the way I was feeling achy and tired. Then in  December I got sick. I got over the flu but I felt even more exhausted and the achy had turned to real pain. I quit my job at Wally World and finally in march I found out I have Fibromyalgia. Now I'm worried a lot but life has never been easy for me why should it be now...
